Working from a studio in the centre of Oxford, Wendy’s work is grounded in places she knows well. Her silver-chemistry photographic prints invite us into unexplored corners of familiar scenes, encounters with people who meet our gaze and glimpses of places we want to know better.

Wendy works with the materials and real world presence of silver-based photography using 19th and 20th century cameras and technology. Her images are mostly captured on film and then enlarged and printed in the darkroom. She uses film, glass and paper to create tangible pictures that have been proven to last over 100 years. This link to the past informs some of her images, while others seem timeless or compellingly modern.
